The Basics

The Road to Hana connects the towns of Kahului and Hana, hugging the coast for a distance of 64 miles. It’s famous for its difficult driving terrain and spectacular scenery. Highlights along the route include the seven sacred pools of Oheo, the Twin Falls waterfall, the black sand beach at Wai’anapanapa State Park, Honomanu Bay, and the Hana Lava Tube.

Driving along the route can be challenging for more inexperienced drivers, so if you’re not confident or don’t feel like spending an entire day behind the wheel, consider joining a guided full-day tour. For a more glamorous option, you can also get a bird’s eye view on a helicopter tour.

Small Group Road to Hana Adventure Tour with Pickup
It’s a one time type of trip. Our guide Christine was very informative. She shared tons of island knowledge with us that we all used throughout the rest of our trip. It is a very long day but being a first timer to Maui its a its a must do. Truck was clean, stops were great and you can’t beat the views.

Maui Tour : Road to Hana Day Trip from Kahului
Wow!! What an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Malia was just perfect. She was so knowledgeable about the island and how much love she has for Hawaii. The views were perfect and we got to take many nice photos. The car was clean and spacious! We were happy that we got a tour bus as the roads were very narrow and curvy. Malia was so careful when driving and with my mom!! Thanks Maila!!!

Hāna and Beyond - Full Circle Rainforest Tour.
Our tour guide was energetic and knowledgeable of the island. We loved the rainbow trees, swimming under the waterfall, and black sand beach! I also lost my cell phone in the van. Workers stayed late going through the van until it was found! We appreciate the positive experience!

This was a great way to do the road to Hana. We did it 20 years ago and we missed a lot of these stops. The history portion of the trip was great also. Would definitely recommend this.

Private, REVERSE Full Circle Jeep Adventure, Road to Hana
Incredible day experiencing the entire Road to Hana. Our tour driver Daisy was fantastic and really made us feel like we were part of the family. We were so glad that we booked this tour instead of driving ourselves so that we could enjoy the day without any stress. We would not have seen even a fraction of what Daisy showed us had we done it ourselves. We got to see some remote/secluded parts of the area and dodged the crowds all day. Thank you Daisy and thank you Hoaloha Tours!
